Special costume design courses

Type of studies: full-time and extramural, the course lasts 2.5 years.
A costume designer creates new clothes using products which are already available on the market, and does so according to the expectations of a theatre director or a photographer. Designing fashion is a slightly more individual activity, while a costume designer usually works in a team. A fashion designer manages his/her time him/herself, while a costume designer works according to the general schedule of a theatre, film or some other. Both courses, Fashion Design and Costume Design, share the same art subjects and English lessons throughout the first year. Following the summer holiday, subjects vary depending on a chosen specialization. Before taking diploma exam, all students are obliged to undergo an internship in a company that will be assigned to them. Students also develop their knowledge by taking part in fashion fairs in Poland and abroad and by monitoring the cultural events.
